Apple Silicon: Here we go again.
Back in November Apple announced their new M1 processor and new Apple Silicon Macs. The new machines represent the third major processor transition in the history of the company. Apple’s new machines are posting impressive benchmarks and garnering rave reviews from the media, but what does it mean for the rest of us? This month Adam Christianson, host of the Maccast podcast, will join us to talk about Apple’s new M1 processor and what it means for the future of the Mac. He’ll help explain the history of ARM technology and reasons for the current transition. He’ll discuss the pros and cons of the current systems, dig into transition technologies like Universal Binaries and Rosetta 2, and talk about what it all means for the future of Apple and the Macintosh.
