Program: An Updated review on the Many Options for Cutting the Cable / By All of Us /
You may remember back in the early days of cable TV, all of the major broadcast networks started a large campaign against the “evils” of Pay TV! The ads warned that once the monsters behind Pay TV services got their hooks into us, we would be forced to pay for the programming we had always received for free.
Obviously, Pay TV has since grown into a hybrid of cable and internet services that have taken over a huge part of the home entertainment industry to the point that we happily pay for programing, and have largely forgotten that free broadcast TV still exists for free.
Now days with an antenna and an OTA (Over The Air) DVR (Digital Video Recorder) you can even record and fast forward through commercials using your Apple TV remote.
There are savings to be had for your entertainment budget. Your best solution may be to add free TV options to your mix of cable TV, internet streaming, or satellite TV. Join us at our January meeting when we update our investigation of “cutting the cable.”
